A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Nancy, and I qualified as a Body Control Pilates Matwork Level 3 teacher in 2019.
I started attending a Pilates class after surgery on my shoulder. I had in previous years been attending the gym and doing fitness classes, but after I hurt my shoulder, and more importantly, after surgery, I could no longer attend as I was in pain and my movements restricted.
I started attending a Pilates class with a Body Control Pilates teacher, and I have never looked back.
Pilates focuses on precision of movement, so I could concentrate on what I was doing, how my body was moving and how my shoulder was responding to movement. After my first class I felt alive and at ease with my body. My body felt great and so did my mind. My shoulder mobility improved and the pain slowly decreased with continued sessions. I began to understand my body better. I certainly became absorbed in the process as not only my body felt great but my mind too. I decided to train with Body Control Pilates. I now work with men and women to help them regain confidence in their bodies, whether that is to manage an existing injury, enhance performance in their chosen sport, prevent back pain, or simply just feel great in their bodies.
